Along the way I have been lucky to work with many Brit beauties such as the divine Miss Jodie Kidd. I photographed this story called ‘Girl About Town’ for ELLE magazine in a suite at the glam Sanderson Hotel in London. The shoot was based around Jodie’s jet set life, living out of a suitcase. It was styled by Claudia Navone, whose truly idiosyncratic style made her a target for a throng of Japanese journalists and photographers who would encircle her during Fashion Week in Paris like moths to a “vintage brocade and real fur, darlink” flame. I believe she is now living Down Under and still working the fur, now teamed amusingly with a pair of flip-flops. Jodie was a joy to photograph (this picture is unretouched, taken with a point-and-shoot camera using only natural light) and always a treat to work with or bump into at showtime. A real lady…about town and country.
