Despite the heaven or hell that is back-to-back episodes of Don’t Tell The Bride and Amazing Wedding Cakes on Food Network (who knew?), May and June are still traditionally the months when magazines and retailers go mad for all things bridal. So, on a recent trek through deepest Belgravia to SHOWstudio HQ to take part in a special RCA panel devoted to fashion education (more later), I happened upon the Anya Hindmarch store in Pont Street with windows filled with revolving wedding cakes decorated with all manner of cake toppers. Sourced from every era there are couples of every combination and variety. My favourite has to be this same sex pair of bisque dolls from the 1930s. A more modern interpretation of marriage and modish wedding gown (I’m feeling Rick Owens?), you are unlikely to find methinks…
